need a bit of help for fixing the tigra

by BazV6er » Sun Jan 16, 2011 4:00 pm

We have had a bit of a problem recently with the tigra as we noticed a slight leak coming from the rear passenger quarter panel near the roof .the floor is saturated ,the door pillars have mould and mildew on them and also as we couldnt afford to tax both cars at the same time we have left the car and its got a bit waterlogged.

Now i dont want tina to be scrapping the car as i know she loved it and sort of lost focus after her later brother, but as far as i know it looks like it could be the rear boot rubber/weatherstrip as it doesnt look that good apart from that i cant see where it maybe coming in.

Ive looked on my epc on my laptop and the partnumber is:

WEATHERSTRIP,TAIL GATE
90463007

but ive looked on ebay but cant see any on there so i may have to give autovaux a ring.

any other suggestions where else the leak could be from

right weve just had a look ,we think the boot rubber is definately in need of change, weve cleaned up the condensation off the area and i just need to get hold of a vax etc to soak up water on carpet and tbh now weve looked it dont look too bad and once weve fitted the new rubber we will get a cover and see if that helps.

trouble is the car dont get used as much as mine ,but when i did use it before xmas i used it a few times with taz in it.

I presume it has a sunroof??? sunroof drains ...easy test open sunroof, pour some water and you should see it drain away and come out the bottom of the car

How about putting a hose on it whilst someone sits inside and checks the areas you think could be the problem

yeah thats true but it also looks like someone has like punched the inside of the sunroof material as it has dents but its not leaking from there.

so find out where the drain tubes are and see if they are in correctly...just casue it aint leaking at the sunroof dont mean the drains are not blocked, the drain tubes will be in the boot area and also down the front someplace

ok the drains on the rear of the tigra are unblocked as thats the normal place to block.I still think the boot rubber that goes around the whole of the back and near the roof could be suspect as it seems very weak.

How did you check the rear drains without opening the sunroof?

Fraz is saying the drain pipe connection at the sunroof end could be off
