Agreed MArk, A guy at work swears by them and i've seen footage of him using them up some silly hills.

there was a thing years ago that was like wheel clamp with three legs. it had a central large adjustment knob. It could fit 13> 17 inch wheels

you simply adjusted the claws to fit over your Tyre's then tighten it so it fitted snug, was only really meant to get you out of trouble, but they did work and took a minute or two to fit to each wheel

guess these are the new type
