Roads

Now I know the are rubbish all over, but why when they have cracks and holes in them do they come along put tar and stones(that damage the cars) down and just cover up the damage? In the long run would it not be better to put a new surface down.
Mark...........It's Red........It's a V6............It's an SE9!..............and She's bad.

Who are we to judge?? We're all car owners (aka: criminals) who pay around 7 seperate tax's from the point of buying a car to actually running it on the road. So I certainly dont see how ALLLLL of that tax is wasted in someone's back pocket.... ahem!! :snooty:

What i'd like to point out is this: It costs me about £75 to fill up my car with fuel (about 80% is tax if i'm not wrong?). I also pay my hilarious road tax to boot. And what do I get in return??? A road surfice that could challenge an off roader. Not to mention the accellerated wear and tear to the components on my car.

AND ANOTHER THING!! :protest:

I'm all for speed humps where they are necessay but where I live, I am surrounded by them. There are 16 sets with a set about 25 -30ft away from one another. And they are RIDICULOUSLY HARSH!! Most of them have great gouges on them from people have destroyed their sumps!! Forgot to mention: Where I live leads into a dead end cul-de-sac mostly inhabited by frail OAP's. Nice one. :confusion-helpsos:

Drove up your road the other day. If you see anything lying on the road looking a bit Cally-like its probably my suspension

if they used the road tax to actually maintain and pay for roads, we would have smooth roads all over

It seems wherever you drive in our area the roads are terrible :(

When we were in Spain we drove through the towns and the mountains, and the road surfaces were a lot better that any of our roads here, they don't pay road tax and the fuel was cheaper :!: :!:

well i have to say that when it comes to surfaces the tyres i have on the car (yes many have mocked them but they are nice and chunky to glide over surfaces even tho i have to avoid any potholes.

im with fraz if the tax money was used then we would hardly have any maintence and suspension issues.
