No as the chances are we have a VOSA trained/qualified instructor who then trains the others to be testers, its no different to VOSA training a new instructor.

It is not an easy 3 week course though! I have a friend who is an ex MOT tester who found it hard!

Ian im not trying to pick a fight or be a smart arse with you, but there seems to be a big diffrence from the mot and the cop on the side of the road, im not just talking about hid's but most people take there car get it tested and think its all good when the mot is handed over but you know as well as everone else does you could pull them over 2 mins up the road and find somthing wrong with there car, how can the normal legal guy win

If the general cop at the side of the road finds something that they are not happy with, they will normally either -

1) ask for a vehicle examiner to conduct a roadside check
2) Issue a VDRN (Vehicle Defect Rectification Notice)

Point 1 could result in a prohibition if the SPECIALLY TRAINED officer deems that the defect is that serious, either of the options though require the car to be taken to a MOT centre, to have the vehicle inspected after the rectification of the defect(s).

I know your just asking questions, hence why i am answering them :)

Steve,

In the case of someone getting pulled over 2 minutes after an MOT pass and getting stopped and then issued a prohibition notice, I am sure VOSA would probably get involved, and want to know why the MOT tester passed it in the first place...

As VOSA want to ensure that the MOT test is worth the paper that it is written on!

I'm not sure if you have heard of something called the bataris box, but it is something that is taught in a lot of roles that are public/customer service facing and it is very valid!

(sorry for the image but i can't draw this)

But in a nut shell if i were to get out of the patrol car with an aggressive attitude, it is only going to affect the attitude of the person i am dealing with and make them more aggressive as such.

It is very true though, and once you are aware of it you really notice it!

Conversely, the same applies if you are the one being stopped. It is never a good idea to be aggressive. Regardless of the situation, a bit of 'positive' humility is usually the best course of action.

sorry admit nothing and give no information if you are arrested and an officer tells you that anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law WHY would you say anything keep the mouth shut say nothing the more you say the more ammo you give them and all you are doing is incriminating yourself

sorry ian you seem a good guy but i dispise everything you stand for in your working hours this is nothing personal againt you just the organisation the you are employed by just my opinion

police around here are only interested in giving out tickets fines and shafting motorists whe my car was stolen they couldnt give a stuff as there is no profit to be made simple here your crime reference

police claim to be non profit so why are the floated on the stock market and registered with companys house hmmmmm anybody who doubts this feel free to check just while were on the subject of law does anybody here have any type of contract stating that you agree with and to stay within the law of the government i dont and have no plans to do so either they are not my laws and i dont agree with them nor support them or the govrnment who dish them out willy nilly same as the breach of the peace crap all that means is if you dont bend over and agree with what someone else says they will arrest you if you make a stand and stick up for yourself what a load of b*******

this country should learn how to stand up for itself look at some eastern countrys if the people of those countrys dont like what there government do they riot and burn them out with all the crap this government put us throught there would be nothing left of britain if we acted how they do. same as the law and punishment you steal in some countrys you loose your hands simple there is no deterant in this country as these people over here who steal do drugs etc have no deterant and nothing to loose over there they have a deterant and something to loose there hands and fear for there lives if they do wrong
