applying load to the brakes ?

That's logical but how do you measure if the valve is working without a 4 wheel rolling road?

I didn't know the lights went up/down on switch on.

Has anyone tried putting the HIDs in the foglight projector. That would be legal :)

*Update*

The new MOT rules which I have listed will be on the MOT computer from January 2012 but only as advisories so MOT testers can familiarise themselves with all the new rules. April 2012 the rules will become "live", so after this date you will be able to fail them on the new rules.

Also from today ALL NEW MOT certificates will be printed on PLAIN WHITE PAPER! No more green certificates.
I will post a example picture later.

So that may mean a premature test in March to delay a fail until March 2013.

Or change the bulbs for the test just like some 'optional' Cat users.

Then hope that police traffic patrols leave you alone.

I was out in Mark1's area a few weeks ago in this -

Image

When the car in front started slowing down (not too unheard of with that behind you) then it just stopped in the middle of the road, so we moved along side to ask what was the matter to be told that our headlights were too bright! (factory fit BMW HID's).

While i do understand the predicament that you guys face, having had a few calibra's in my past, but i have seen some of the dazzle that these kits do give out! You have to remember that other road users don't have the ability to move their rear view mirror into a night position for example.

Also don't forget that the some members of the police, can conduct a roadside MOT (basically) and if you were driving at night, with lights that didn't comply, could issue a prohibition notice on the car not to be driven on the road.
