Name the programme - architecture/ motoring documentary.

by garyb » Sat Oct 29, 2011 7:18 pm

Description:
late 50s/ early 60s B/W TV documentary(may have been a series) revolving around one man in his car (Morris minor or similar) driving up the newly opened M1 extolling the architectural virtues of the sights he sees along the way.

Does anyone recall it's name?

Sorry folks, bit of a bum steer on the year. The documentaries were made between 70&72, it was his books and key articles that were published in the late 50s/ early 60s

The chap was Ian Nairn.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Nairn

The programme was Nairn's Travels, a series of 6 documentaries for the Beeb.

For the more serious minded on the forum 'tis definitely worth keeping an eye open for any re-runs . Torrents seem a bit thin on the ground ... :(

The teat card? Wish I'd seen that in my adolescence. Would have been a treat!
