you would think the homless charity would turn round and say that they wont do it that weekend and let the RBL in, they can do it any weekend its only 2/3 weeks a year you see these hero's out selling the poppies what the F*** is the country coming too,

If it wasnt for the war heroes that we are remembering, we wouldnt have our country.....then again, going by the way things are turning out with immigrants and many other subjects I wont go into right now, we're gonna end up being the minority anyway!

Rememberance sunday is ONE SINGLE DAY OF THE YEAR! Shelters, or any one else for that matter, have every other day of the year to make collections. It should be automatic that Poppy appeals take priority on the ONE DAY of the year.

Simply goes to show the lack of respect so many of our country have for their armed forces. The same hypocritical ***** would still be quick enough to expect us to protect them if a war broke out though....even though we have dropped our numbers so stupidly that we probably couldnt cope with a war now anyway!

I always seem to be controvertial on these things...

I guess I just hate the way the media portray these things..

It seems (ok its changed anyway) to be saying basically *they* applied too late and missed the spot.. and then its the councils fault for having rules that mean we don't have 500 people collecting for 500 different charitys on every street corner all day long.. the dates known in advance.. book it in advance. as for shelter being nasty and not allowing them to swap, who says they were even made aware of the issue?? yet now they have recieved negative press they probably dont deserve, and they also do a very good job

The media are not there to tell you whats happening, they are a BUSINESS!!!! they write what will get you reading, not a fair unbias representation of reality..

Fair enough but as said before, this is 'rememberance sunday' and the only time of the year it happens. If it werent for these people during the war, 99% of us now probably wouldnt even exist with the way times would have changed. Poppy selling shouldnt need an 'application'.....it should be automatic due to its importance.

I thought this was going to be interesting until I read that it was because Shelter had the spot already. Hardly a ban. As with this site...rules are rules. Though they should allow both to collect.
