Best way to insure a 2nd car?

Does anyone on here run 2 or more cars? I'd like to take my car off the road for winter, just tax it for 6 months over the summer and run a 2nd car as my daily driver. What is the best / cheapest way of doing this? Can you insure a car against theft if it is just laid up?

had the Astra and the Calibre insured last year (Astra just winter car) I managed to get a company to mirror the no claims bonus on the Astra , and was £140 for the year for the Astra ...you could give them a call and see what they say about just theft cover (or even classic car)

i have two seperate policies running. not the cheapest way but going to be handy in a couple of year with two insurances wih good no claims

How old are you?

Admiral multicar is a good one, ecar also do multi vehicles on one policy but you need to be over 25..

Also, if you are over 25, you could run the Calibra as a second car on a classic car policy.
