You reach boost at lower revs/spools quicker.

A hybrid is just a term used for a modified turbo really.

so technically it could do whatever you wanted to.

commonly though it does the opposite of above, ie actually picks up boost/power later, this is the compromise you get for having a slightly larger overall flow to get more power higher up.

if its just a slightly trimmed k16, not really worth the monies imo, start putting different wheels in it, and it starts getting worthwhile :)

cheers guys, informative stuff :-) the one im looking at is a k16/k26, with the inlet flowed out to its maximum potential...

Keep researching elsewhere for independent advice because what you have heard on here so far is contradictory.
A small turbo had limited performance but boosts lower in the rev range.
A larger turbo produces more boost but takes more revs to spool up.
A hybrid should give you the advantage of both: spools up quickly but then gives you a good maximum boost. If it had no compromises, then surely it would be too good to be true?
