what is this bush called?
hi just been having a look under my car and noticed these bushes are really bad i could crumble bits of it off but whats it called here`s a pic

i also noticed the brake lines corroded and the car has 11 months mot i`m goin to the mot centre about it as i dont think it should of passed
ps i brought it with the mot on it a few days sgo

brake lines should only fail if they leak,some fail if they are rusty but thats not what they are told to do when sitting there mot tester test, is down to the individual tester, and that is your rear subframe bush aka a doughnut bush

oh i allways thought it was a fail if the lines was just pitted as i`ve had then fail for it in the past,as for the bush i dont think theres any play in it i cant hear any knocking when driving anyway

break pipes will/should fail if they are excessively corroded or pitted or if in the opinion of the tested are substantialy weakened for any reason
