Re: getting on now
bloody hell, i bought it to use when the 3.0i capri was in bits having a new engine built, and when i sold the capri i had intended for the calibra to replace it and get something cheap to use daily but couldnt bring myself not to use it every day. has been on 3 trips down to south france and planning next years run around europe which i'm hoping to include the nurburgring and Switzerland, although would never risk the calibra on the ring will hopefully be renting an alfa 75 3.0 v6 from rsr again

Re: getting on now
If you are changing it every 5/6k then 10/40 semi is perfectly ok.
The VX 10/40 semi is a very good oil, and If you are a member on here you'll get it for @£12
Dont waste ya money.

Re: getting on now
mines on 124k now nearly 4 years ive owned mine and i had a close shave the other day when i was driving around our village i happened to see what looked like a rock on the road and the car infront drove over it and i did the same and next thing i heard was a loud bang (pulled over checked underneath and luckily everything was fine no fluids leaking thankgod .
Maybe next weekend when i change the oil (yes this time i will be doing it properly and not getting into bother with it like last year) i may see a dent somewhere as it happened to be a flint i drove over but because my car was lowered slightly thats why it clanged.

Re: getting on now
My Purple turbo is now on 130,000 miles.
Given that over the last 25k it's had 3 engines, 3 suspension setups, and had replaced front wings, most(all?) bushes, all cv's & d/shafts, both rear 1/4 panels, both doors, all brakes, complete new rear suspension end (arms, arb, diff etc)etc..and most importantly almost all sensors and wiring....it still feels like new. Just a bit quicker than showroom of course.
I had a Calibra XE that did silly miles in it's time - moved from London to Sardinia with it (12 return trips?) plus a few Malaga/ Gibraltar & Germany/ Austria runs let alone 'local' tours around N.Italy & Corsica. It was a high-ish miler when I bought it - 75k in 5 years. I doubled that in under 2 , lol.
