Wing mirror advice please

by maid marianne » Sat May 22, 2010 9:08 pm

When I was driving today I noticed my drivers side wing mirror was vibrating.

When I got in I gently pulled it and it came off :!: luckily its still in one piece

There is some sticky tape on the back of the mirror, (not very sticky now) in the mirror surround that the mirror sticks to is black plastic looking covering.

What would be best to use to stick it back on, they are heated mirrors, and is there anything I should be aware of when doing it :?:

Thank you :)

Been wondering the same thing myself, i have used B&Q super dooper glue ( stuff which has glue and hardener you mix up) but didn't put enough hardener in. Mirror still stuck in and now only vibrates a little. The heater element in it still works as well :D

:? Don't think the heater element is part of the glass on mine :?: :?:

It just appears to be a double sided mirror, shaped to fit the surround (I would suspect it could be used on either side of the car) and it has what looks like double sided tape on the back.

sounds like your glass has been replaced with a halfords/not vx one, you can buy them from halfords and they just stick over the top of the org one that most likly why it shakes
