My new Calibra needs your help!

by calibracroatia » Sat May 22, 2010 7:19 am

Hello everyone

I bought a Calibra off eBay in the UK in April and drove it all the way to Croatia where I am now living.

The car performed admirably, apart from losing a shock absorber on the way which has since been reattached. However, I'm starting to have problems...

The engine light comes on intermittently, the car is very sluggish to start cold and sometimes conks out at the first attempt, and I have started to smell burnt oil after journeys. There is no obvious evidence of leaking on the driveway.

It's a '97 2.5 litre, V6 engine - any ideas?

Thanks everyone!

Lloyd

You may have a small oil leak on one of the rocker covers..just dropping a spot of oil onto the manifold.. would imagine thats problem, with the burning oil smell, common for the plastic covers to warp very slightly causing a leak..some replace with Vectra B metal covers to eliminate this problem.
