right todays progress... getting there now! Not too many pictures as most of it was just doing bits and bobs but as you all should know thats what takes the most time!
heres how shes standing at the moment...
Image

first off i attached the oil pressure sender...
Image

next we started putting the driveshafts back together and sticking them in the car...
Image

new boots of course ;)
Image

old v6 engines make great tables :p
Image

and in they go..
Image

next it was time to have a good old go at the exhaust. This took most of the day and the sudden downpours didn't help :p
Image

eventually we got it all sorted and back on :)
Image

Image

Image

Image

Next the radiator and fan go in..
Image

Spark plugs...
Image

and the inlet...
Image

Not too far to go now before shes back on the road :) Then i can concentrate on the bodywork.

Hopefully another week and she'll be started and ready for her mot :)

right got some more done tonight but im a bit annoyed. Had to take the inlet off again to get the traction control motor which means i chipped the paint :( Also ive really hurt my finger trying to get the throttle body on and i spent far too long on it all :(

Things are so close yet so far and its beginning to bug me!

Right!

First off i stuck the oil filter on and connected up all loose connections. I also attached the loom to the inlet.

Next i cleaned out the throttle body as it was filthy...

to..
Image

Next i assembled the air tract...
Image

On Goes the TC Motor
Image

And after much arsing about the throttlebody
Image

On with the ducting...

And thats a good few hours gone! Fed up now! Off to bed

If i have any more problems like tonight there will soon be a cally up for sale :(

Getting seriously ******* off now. With all the small bits to do its just taking ages and the little bits aren't working like they should!

Tonight my aim was to get the new wishbones on, the brake calipers off and the discs off and maybe the new discs on if possible...

Well that all went out of the window!

First off i tried getting the first wishbone in but it wouldn't budge for love nor money! The verticle bolt end would not go into the passage! It was only after about 30 mins i realised the crushable inserts were stopping it and I should have inserted the lower one whilst it was in position... :(

Eventually I got the wishbones in...
one side...
Image
the other...
Image

I then took the caliper off... it was extremely tight but i eventually got it off. I then realised i needed the bracket off, only to realise i dont have the bit to get it off!

No discs off tonight :(

I thought id get the other caliper off instead ready for the weekend...
Image

To say im not amused is an understatement. I hit my head on the arch and now my head hurts like a beyatch!

I had the final design for the decals tonight with the wide arch kit factored in..
Image

And thats about it for tonight, it better start going better soon!

PS. Any V6 owners know how the lower plastic bit sits on the alternator fan ducting because if i jam it under the slam panel either way up it wont fit on the ducting!

well i thought i had a bad day on wednesday but thats a drop in the ocean :(

started well today, got the other caliper off..
Image

took off the rear discs :)
Image

and on with the new ones :)
Image

used the wheel bolts to make it sit right ;)
Image

half done..
Image

after much persuasion off come the front discs..
Image

new arb links on..
Image

and on with the front discs...
Image

this is where it all started going wrong :(

we filled up all the fluids and put what we thought were the right wires on the right terminals for the battery, it seems that they might have been incorrect. Went to try and start the engine and lots of smoke comes out from behind the clocks :(

Some wires have shorted and after much looking i cant find where they are :(

Image
Image

need to find a decent auto electrician in notts :( problem is now i need this car on the road asap but i might need to look at a cheap alternative...

im devastated to be honest. I really feel like im stuck between a rock and a hard place.

can anybody with a v6 please go and take a picture of your battery terminals...
I have 4 wires
1x red with red stripe (armoured)
1x black with no stripe (armoured) to loom
1x black with no stripe (not armoured) to loom
1x black with no stripe (not armoured) to chassis

I need to figure out where these go. Its a late engine going in an early shell.

More when i've decided whether to pack it in and get a working car...
