The second guy, and the fourth guy did. But I still don't get your point? We will happily feature suitable Calibras as i've said repeatedly through the thread.

And there lies the problem in bold.
You say what goes into the mag is what you feel the readers want, that is perfectly sensible.
But when those readers are the people that voted for the winning car how can you not sit up and listen?
Surely steve's calibra winning is actually a vote for what they like?
If the VX community didn't like the car they wouldn't of voted it the best out of thousands there.

Again, you've summed up the issue here (as I think most of us see it) above, YOU don't think it's suitable Dan, or at least that's the way you're coming across.

I'am disappointed in the way that the winner of the VBOA 2011 has not received the recognition the he deserves, Total Vauxhall Magazine had featured my car 'The Beast' in July's 2003 edition
I fail to understand why he has been denied the opportunity to have his car featured within Total Vauxhall Magazine, as they claim they claim they are looking for 'power' not 'style' this is based on the views of the young readers of whom are purchasing the magazine.
My point to Total Vauxhall Magazine as a 41 year-old I ask you why the magazine is drawing more towards the youth of today's society? as I feel that Total Vauxhall Magazine are just doing this as a 'marketing scheme' and let's just forget about all the elder Vauxhall cars we have all loved and may still
Vauxhall Cavalier
Vauxhall Lotus Carlton
Vauxhall VX490
Vauxhall PA Cresta
Vauxhall Victor
Opel Kadett
Opel Ascona
Opel Omega
Just to name a few of the many Vauxhall classic cars that were in production

Sorry to hear about this Steve. And feelings are obviously running high. I've seen the pics of The Drain and it's a stunner (and this from an owner who's into standard cars!). I don't know how many Calibras you've got at the moment, but I think it was five at one point? Perhaps you could have got a feature in this magazine:

I think it is just a shame that a once great vaxhall oriented magazine which covered a wide fan base has decided to concentrate on such a narrow section of the vauxhall community in recent publication,
as for the comment about us not being true enthusiasts, hows this for a list of gm cars that i have owned since i was 18,
8 MK11 cavaliers all but one sri's the other being a gli,9 calibra'sfrom an 8vto my last my 2.5v6 conversion with subtle oem modifications done to it ,2 MK3 cavaliers 2.0 16v,and an early 20seh MK3 sri,Opel manta
droopsnoop firenza sportshatch,Astra gte MK2,corsa A and a nova, and my last vectra b 2.6 sri Hatch, From an early age i have always been into Vauxhalls from driving them, worked for vauxhall, and drawing them,so I and most on here are true enthusiasts of a company that started off in 1857 making marine pumps and engines, which has developed into vauxhall as we know and love today

I have read through this whole conversation/debate and i can see both sides of the story where as one has the more outstanding "showy" side to it and the other is wanting the more "subtle" look which is fair enough but the part that annoys me about the mag is the likes of when a STANDARD car get a feature! the latest one that i can recall was the light blue astra j sports tourer with th 1.4T engine. As far as i can tell "in my opion" they look awful and they are as slow as anything so my point is this- this type of feature covers nothing that is mentioned by either of the previous sides in this discussion. Also with the new GTC available how long will it be before it has a feature which can explain the same thing as the showroom brochure?

I will continue to get the mag and read it but i would like to see some more of the rarer and older models mentoned earlier as i feel it does help to keep specalist forums such as this one or novas, omegas, ect from completely dying off if people are reminded that these models still exsist.

well that my opinion in there

I have thought of trying my luck with mine a few times in the past...
Like you say, doubt they'd even think about it now.
