Main gripe is that garages don't like having to deal with it, as its a diagnostic headache. one mechanic said "sorry not dealing with v6, too complicated !"

nothing complicated about a v6 fuel + air + spark = go go go

got the impression he had a particularly bad experience trying to sort one previously.

the piles of old receipts ive gotten with my two v6ers, show they were getting thrashed back in their day and caused the dealers a lot of headache. Engines failing at 70,000 or less, pages of parts show the engines getting completely disassembled for diagnostics and the owners stumping up over a grand a time.

If you have no stat and a good radiator and it still gets too hot, id say the engine is running to lean. had this problem with my old c20let and it was the alternator causing the problem.

My only gripe really is the damn fuel gauge background peeling at the edge.

I havent got a clue, but it ran hot and because the owner coudnt find the problem and carried on driving it the rings were boobarred, exhaust valve guides were so worn the valves touched the piston. Only give away was the volt gauge reading about 12.5 volts instead of 14.5. Fitted a new alternator proper voltage car never went over 95 degress and went like a bat out of hell.

The only reason i knew of this problem was when my bro's cavalier turbo did the same many many years ago he changed everything untill he found it.
