right! time for a small update methinks :)

Ive been waiting for a bit to get the parts ive been needing and ive spent far too much this week on the cally :)

Here is one of the boxes that turned up...

Image

Theres too many parts to list but basically its enough for a damned good service and to put the car back to how it should be :)

Image

Heres the spacer ive had made for the driveshaft too, im pleased with how its turned out .
Image

Also my new flywheel came... and so did i when i saw it ;) love it :)

Image

my new clutch arrived too so i thought that id just line up the pressure plate to the flywheel to make sure i got the right parts....

Image
Image

It didn't want to line up :( I was a tad baffled so i thought id stick the part number into epc only to find its the V6 clutch! Because im putting the turbo gearbox on i have a turbo flywheel and needed a turbo clutch. Autovaux have been great about it as to be fair it was thier mistake and they are rectifying it asap, which im happy about :)

my dad nipped over today to give me a hand with a few bits and bobs (not a lot today) so we set off getting the old flywheel off, and as per my luck one of the bolts didn't want to come out and rounded off :( not to be defeated we decided to get out the grinder ;)

Image
Image

One new flywheel later and...

Image

We decided to leave it like that for the time being as theres no clutch so a quick thrust bearing change later and...

Image

Before i decided to finish i thought id remove the altenator, serpentine belt and lower pulley...

Image

Image

Thats about it for now :) Will soon have more pics of the new parts that will be arriving soon :)

Cheers

Bill

The mirrors and new discs are on order too, bodykit should be here later this week and ive managed to snaffle an uprated engine torque link...

right, just a small update now for the time being. I started today by taking my altenator and altenator fan to an auto electrician to make sure it works (i would rather change it now if it was dodgy rather than on the car). He said it would be a couple of hours so off i went to Nuneaton to pick up a spare bumper :)

Image

Its red but im only after the bump strips really as mine are pretty knackered ( i will be colour coding them).

On the way back i picked up the altenator and they said it was working spot on as was the fan :) Cost a fiver for the test, bargain!

Anyway, off i go to pick up my latest deliveries...

Image

M3 mirrors so i can get rid of the side nipples legally and also the dtm car has them, however the supplier decided to send me two totally different baseplates!
Image

One phone call later and they are sending me the proper one in the next couple of days :)

Also with the delivery was the pas fluid and this little package....
Image

Can you guess what it is yet? :P

Yup its my new wide arch body kit!
Image

Later tonight my replacement bonnet (post facelift) has been delivered (i know its not white but it will be getting a respray).
Image

And after the altenator has been tested i refitted that and the fan :)

Image

Thats all i've got done today.
Hopefully ill have more stuff delivered tomorrow. Im running out of room in the house :( Will need to start fitting some of it ;)

right well my new engine stabiliser bar came today,

Image

Looks really good quality and well worth the near on 100 quid i spent on it :)

Things on the whole are looking good, i am looking to move to a place with a garage soon so i might be needing a car trailer so anybody in the nottingham area with a car trailer there may be a small payment for a little help :)

Next couple of weeks will be a little updateless as i have a lot of work on but after that it will be full steam ahead :)

Right well where to start, my apologies for the last week or so of no updates, as you all know ive been doing my final year project for university.

110 grueling A4 pages later and im just about ready to get on with the car :). That would be if I wasn't moving house within the next month ;) Me and the gf have found a lovely 3 bed detached house with a big garage to do the car in.

Unforuntately the engine won't be in the cally in time so I need to shift the car on a trailer! Because the drive shafts are out this means the splines need to be removed from the shafts and refitted to the hubs before the wheels can go back on.

In the meantime, my new wheel centre caps have arrived (finally!)

Rimstock provided the decals for the cetres too but kindly left them off for me allowing them to be totally powder coated when the wheels go on :D

Image

Hopefully soon ill have some real updates for ya! ;)
