The overall plan
Re: The overall plan
Well for the first time in a long time... i have bugger all to do on the cally!
Spacers come next week, as do the spoiler struts fresh from powder coating...
So out I went looking for things to do...

Hmm damned cracked paint on the rear bump strips this time...

And some damned overspray from the yellow on the back!
I stripped back the paint as much as I could (before the heavens opened!)

Rubbed back and freshly sprayed

She is rather wide!

And still looks great without a rear bumper

Tomorrow I will finish off the rubbing of the bump strips, polish up the bumper and hopefully get some primer on the bump strips ready for spraying

Re: The overall plan
Well after being let down by two companies (wheel spacers and show plates
) I got some more work done
My cold air trunking did arrive!

And snakes nicely through the car...

Also my new alarm was installed! The guys were great and did a really good job fitting. They did rip out some melted wiring from when I tried to start the engine over a year ago!

Now nicely fitted in however and I can lock and unlock the doors
On with the sill plates!

And some spraying for the spoiler struts! I got a damned run with the colour however so it will be flattened back tomorrow and some more colour put on

The rear bump strips were sprayed but im not too happy with them. Im after some mint bump strips for re-doing

More tomorrow! So close now

Re: The overall plan
Well a day of mixed fortunes!
I was going over to halfords to buy some better paint for the struts... only for the clutch cable to snap on the purple cally
Lucky I managed to get to halfords to get the paint before being towed back!
Now I have got the old cable out and the cable is a vauxhall only part
This means that I have to have the day off work to fix it. However, this presents an opportunity in that I can take the white one to be MOT'ed tomorrow and drive it to and from work and fix the purple one at the weekend
I will see what happens
Anyway, when I got back I flattened down the struts for the respray... which the reacted with the primer
I had to take them both back to metal to get them sprayed!
First with the acid etch...

Then with the white primer...

Then the yellow

Bumper on again!

Not too far to go
Spacers and spoiler on and some show plates to finish it off for shows...

Re: The overall plan
I dont know dad, the gardeners do it
So today she finally became road legal! MOT this morning which she sailed through! One advisory on handbrake but ill adjust that
So when I got back from taxing her I had a fully legal car... christ ive been getting some looks! Plus someone shouting nice car as I drove through the village
Anyway when i got home on went the spoiler

And i know there are going to be some people who hate the spoiler and will doubt why its there. Its on the touring car therefore its on my car... and it comes in quite useful!

Wheel spacers and show plates to go before shes totally 100% done!

Re: The overall plan
The wheel spacers arrived yesterday almost finishing the car off.
Also I managed to source some wiring loom for the guages (before they were just manually wired in with separate pins making it difficult to move around etc.

Here are the spacers

A lot better!
Will wire in the guages on saturday and get the final bits and bobs tightened checked and cleaned and shes done
Certainly does look a lot better spaced out
