Had "One of those days" today :(

Decided I was going to wirebrush and paint the calipers with yellow hammerite whilst i've still got a free day. Painting them yellow and getting gold zinc coated discs, should looking good behind the white alloys. So off out to the shed i go, only to find i've left the hammerite at my dads house :(

I have ended up going over a lot of parts with some ******* getting rid of all the oil off them due to the oil leak on the old engine :) Whilst looking for the hammerite I also sort of ended up clearing out the shed so theres more room to work :)

At least the day wasn't totally wasted!

rightyo i had a little time today so out came the drill and wirebrush and i went to town on the inlet :D

Image

And then a lick of hammerite....

Image

Its only one coat so its still fairly see through but ill put another coat on tomorrow and it should look the mutts :)

Then i got the replacement backbox for that vectra one that didn't fit.

Image

It needs a good clean but it will do until i can get a full system sorted.

So tomorrow it will be a 2nd coat of paint on the inlet and if i can be bothered i might get around to doing the calipers in the same colour :P

Cheers

Bill

right well not many people seem too interested but out of the kindness of my heart ill give yall another update anyway :P

first job today was to give the inlet another coat, its not holding as well as i'd hoped on the aluminium but it doesn't look too bad now, it may get another coat if i can be bothered ;)

Image

i had to leave that to dry so i thought on such a wonderful day i should be out doing the calipers!

so out comes the old wirebrush and off i set to get em as clean as possible
Image

and again out comes the yellow hammerite :) i wasn't worrying too much about the discs or pads as they are all being replaced before the cars on the road again.

Image

Image

Image

i have had to leave the backs till either i can find two more axle stands or until the cars back on its fronts.

after that i thought what i was going to do next and thought that cleaning the engine bay may get some ******* or water on the paint drying so i thought id leave that for the day to harden off.

In the end i decided to have a go at cleaning the scorpion backbox up as it had tar marks and all sorts.

Image

I wasn't too bothered about scratching it as ill be getting a full system on it soon enough so i thought id at least make it look presentable so out came the wirebrush again and the hammer and chisel getting the stones out from between the pipes.

Image

Once i thought id got most of the crap off i got the autosol out and put my back into it :)

Pipe 1...
Image

and done...

Until early april i cant spend much money so im doing stuff that is fairly cheap at the moment and some real momentum will take place soon :)

you better hope for a miracle, the turbo zorst system bends a different way at the back to get round the rear drive shafts so i doubt that'll come close to mating up with the v6 center sections
