It's funny you said that as I use a 1.7td astra estate for work commute as it does nearly 60 to gallon ..... That engine in a 2wd calibra !!! I could be doing 69 miles a day in a calibra - been a lot of years since I have been able to say that !! .... I have a Vxr kitted astra twin top 1.9cdti tuned to 226bhp ... Now that engine in a 4wd calibra with torque by bag full would be a awesome commute and return 50 to gallon - although I imagine the canbus on them would make them a s*****r to connect up

Canbus is just a networking system to link all the ecu's together to cut down on wiring. The Calibra doesn't have that system so just go for an aftermarket standalone engine ecu and custom loom. Problem solved :handgestures-thumbupleft:
