no the 3.2 is a petrol engine, but it isnt the same as engine as what is in the omega,as it is a 60,degree v6

Did the dash look something like this before it went bang??

What the hell did you do to cause that amount of damage? Did you miss 4th and drop into 2nd or something?

it was going from 5th to 6th that did it. i get the feeling it went into 4th and not 6th

dont remeber i had my eyes closed but iv neve heard it make a noise like that before

Oh crap. that sucks big time.
I know how you feel, I serviced a mates zafira yesterday and now it wont run after changing the plugs, he's only just bought it and has had to take 2 days off work because of it. I'm hoping to fix it tomrrow night but I feel really bad about it.
