right as title within the next12 months im hoping to buy tune/modyfy a calibra
ideally wanting a 2.0l dtm 4x4 as ihave 5 sets of 4 stud alloys i like
plans would include going down the 3.0l (x30xe) v6 route incorporating the 4x4set up
any advise would be really helpful as at this moment in time imreasearching and doing my home work for this next project
other plans would include
full respray/ restoration in vxr artic white with black roof mk3 gsi bonnetvents
and some kind of custom (mk3 astra gsi /calibra) front bumper
full custom interior retrim
ino not many on here would like me ripping a gen dtm redtop to replace with v6 and butchering a dtm bumper but i think it would be awesome and would lastme till thee day i die
cheers adam

why a dtm? why not any 2.0m 4x4 cally to do this? or even find a turbo that someone has ripped the engine out of possibly are go from there? especially if you are to respray anyway? also there is only early and late bumpers (mainly) on cally as far as i know anyway.

you can get a non turbo 4x4....though I doubt there is many around, as they never made very many of them

dont know if they are 4 stud ...the turbo 4x4 is 5 stud...why does it need to be 4 stud??

hi and welcome
your not going to find a white 4x4 4 stud and if you do ill eat my hate, i would sell the wheels buy a nice 4x4 shell that some one has nicked the let out of and start there or go buy a 4x4 turbo and forgett all about the (slow, costly )v6 road and have fun with it

ive driven a 4x4 v6 cally and i was quite impressed, mind you that was about 10 years ago. im not so easily impressed any more!

i think the non turbo transfer box was weaker, but still im sure it would handle a v6.

The Calibra 16v came with the earlier transfer box as fitted on the NA Cav 4x4, a known weaker txb. Certain components including the viscous coupling, ecu & temp sensor were modified/ added for the version used on the Turbo. It also came with an F20 rather than f28 box, an important consideration if going for serious V6 mods.

2wd converted f28 + Quaife should be okay for a mildly tuned , say NA & below 230/240bhp, V6.

( or with the increasing rarity of decent f28s, F20+Quaife if changing diffs & boxes isn't a problem for yourself - f20 are cheap as chips to pickup)

ah ok cheers may find a turbo 4x4 with no engine missing then do v6 conv.how easy would it be to change to 4studset-up would only be running around 220-230bhp (roughly what my old mans was)
the best sound imo (minus aston dbs) is a v6 full load never liked the turbo he had, constantly gettin repaired (reason i want v6 his was bulletproof)
cheers guys
just bought some tigra 17'' pentas in anthracite too (going for refurb )
