Highland tour 2010 (updated) all the pictures enjoy

by Fraz » Sat Aug 28, 2010 7:32 am

This years Highland tour was a trip from Stirling Services to the first B&B at Glen Garry. We then went over to the Kyle of Lochalsh and then once again to the viewpoint on way to Applecross

We then decided to take the scenic route from there following the coast and right up to the top of Scotland at Durness, from there we spent the night at a small place called Talmine. The next leg of the trip was over the top of Scotland to the very end of the main land Uk (In Scotland at least) John O Groats. We then travelled down the east coast to Inverness and a wee de-tour to Battle field of Culloden, never stayed there long as like our ancestors we felt like we had been beating (the car park was £2 and the Visitor centre was £10) so we did what they should have done ....ran away !!!

Then down the Great Glen and Loch Ness to another overnight stop and some dinner at Fort Augustus on the Caledonian Canal

next day we then travelled home through Glen Coe and down Loch Lomond, over the Erskine Bridge and through Glasgow to V6 Steves

Was a fantastic weekend and the roads and scenery was spectculaer to say the least. Even the weather was kind to us

the route can be viewed HERE

and the pictures are all viewable by a slide show HERE there is over 800 of them so best get comfy first

Still sorting out all the pictures, but the whole weekend was truly outstanding. Even the weather was good (for most of it)

and yes you should be out driving these cars rather than just sitting about talking about them. 800 miles (and more for some from down England) and not a breakdown in the whole trip (apart from a slight hic up with Allys) Stunning scenery, great roads, and even better company and banter.

next year we are talking about another 800 mile round trip...bit diffrent from this years but taking in Skye and over to Fraserburgh and down into Royal Deeside
