Its a great feeling when you turn the key and it starts first time.
If the idle control valve is disconnected, it will bring the eml on

Had to finish up the re-construction today under a gazebo as the weather for the first couple of hours was god awful & ended with the hail storm to end all hail storms!

Image

The first test drive though & what can I say? Faultless, totally faultless!

Engine & F28 silky smooth & the short shifter has to be one of the best things I added to this whole conversion! 8)

She is now home!

I could've carried on driving all afternoon but this has been one long haul so it is now most definitely beer o'clock! :D

I would not be without mine. It changes the whole feel of the car & so many just don't appreciate this.

Dan mentioned the spare connector on Saturday. It was for the idle control on the plenum. Once connected, the EML went out. Result!
I had to leave before close of play yesterday so I didn't get to see Dan's reaction after the first test drive.

The V6 engine location looks a lot better with an F28 gearbox. The 23mm movement was enough to give us plenty of room to fit the serpentine belt (it was a squeeze before) & moved the throttle body clear from the brake master cylinder. Why didn't GM put it here in the first place?
Dan: does it look like the extra engine cover will fit under the strut brace now too?

At some point I'll get the engine cover repainted, it was nice to have it matching in Mag Blue but the paint just couldn't cope with the heat in the engine bay so it's looking a bit naff at the moment.

Think I'll have a try with some high temp caliper paint like I mentioned at the weekend, blue is blue after all!

There certainly is better clearance for the strut brace on the offside now too.
