Serious Question - How do i break into my car?
Hi all,
I just bought an M reg (facelift) V6, and on the second day I accidentally used another Calibra key in the driver's door lock, i didn't force it, but now on using the correct key, the lock now won't turn at all. I've got two keys, and neither of them will turn the lock. It worked fine before. The passenger door lock turns 45° to the right, but won't turn to the left to unlock. I'm not sure if it's a different lock, or if it was faulty anyway as i've only just bought the car (so waiting on an answer from the owner on this). Anyway, so now i can't get into the car!
The bigger problem is if the deadlocks are on, even if i do get in, how do i de-activate the deadlocks?
Obviously due to the nature of the problem, PM's might be best on this one, unless there are any legitimate solutions or things to try, that I havn't thought of.

I tried the boot lock, but whichever position you turn the key, it doesn't engage the pop mechanism.
Must admit i don't usually go into the boot when the car is locked, so wasn't sure how this usually works. So i tested on my other Calibra whilst it was locked, and the same thing happened. Whichever way i turn the key nothing happens. But...if i unlock the car, i can then pop the boot lock.
I think i read somewhere that its to do with the position the boot lock is in, when you lock the car, as to what effect it has. I havn't tested further on that yet.

Thanks Fraz, happy to say all sorted now phew.
After some fiddling, I found that turning the boot lock to the unlock position a couple of times, with the button already pressed in, seemed to unjam it and i got into the car. Whoop whoop.
On climbing in, i found the doors wouldn't unlock (as expected) as the deadlocks were on. I put the key in the ignition to open the windows, to make access a bit easier, and that set the alarm off lol
.
I quickly popped the bonnet as first thought was to disconnect the battery to stop the alarm (if that even works?), but by the time i climbed back out the boot and shut it, the alarm stopped. So i then opened the bonnet anyway, and the alarm went off again lol !!
Oddly, although the horn stopped after ~30 seconds the lights carried on flashing for a good 5 minutes before stopping, whereas the first time the alarm went off the flashing stopped with the horn.
I then went back to fiddling with the drivers lock, and after a couple of sprays of WD40 and about 5 minutes worth of wiggling the key in every direction, it eventually unlocked ;D
It seems ok now i've freed it up, but one thing for sure is i'm not putting the deadlocks on again. More trouble than they are worth if you ask me !!
