Billing 2012

Just a note to let you all know the VBOA date for Billing 2012 has been changed to the 14th and 15th July due to the Grand Prix being moved to the same weekend we had originally booked.

It was mentioned last week at the VBOA meeting, I had to confirm with Billing as I had both weekends booked for the event awaiting to hear on the reps feelings for which weekend was best to have, after the meeting I spoke to Billing to confirm we wanted the second weekend, they have just come back to confirm we are now definitely booked for this weekend.

I may still be the organiser as nobody has really shown any interest in organising the event.

Not a single person from Vauxhall has shown an interest in the meeting??

That speaks volumes for the company in itself.........


That's how it seems, I don't know if you (Jon) are employed by Vauxhall or if you are part of an enthusiastic following, but if Vauxhall themselves don't encourage this 'meeting' of all things Vaux/Opel/GM related then we are all doomed

Seriously at Billing I see more old Vauxhalls in 2/3 days than in the rest of the year on the road and to be honest.... I find it great, because as a mechanic I can see how the technology/design has moved on through the decades.

It should be a celebration of the loyalty members of the public have to the silver chicken and the cars they have produced.

Vauxhall need to recognise this and splash a bit of cash.

Hi Steve

No I am not employed by Vauxhall's, they don't really have anything to do with the event.

Yes I organise it as a volunteer for the love of the silver chicken, I don't get paid for it.

Getting no responce from anybody is nothing unusual everybody wants the event and shouts about any problems, but you ask for help/assistance and they run a mile.

It takes 6-9 months to organise it, attend various meetings etc, and then be available 24hrs a day from Thursday to Sunday afternoon.
