i had a knocking coming for the passenger side last week, turned out to be a fecked track rod end. so i picked up a set from my local dicounts guy along with a set of greenstuff pads
how is it that the fecked one popped out no bother from the leg, yet the other one which was getting replace because i was doing the other side was the one that gave me all the bother.
it was whacked with a hammer then whacked with a bigger hammer to no avail, it was heated it was lubed, eventually i had to go and buy a splitter. typical first whack with the use of the splitter and it popped
so got both changed and then fitted my new greenstuff pads. so tomorrow i might need to go out a long run and bed in the new pads

the lower arms and arb droplinks were done last year before Billing, then we done the clutch, timing belt, wheel bearings and cv joints before the Highland tour

well after a good run today it seems the track rod end wasnt the only thing that was fecked.
it sounds like the strut top bearing has gone aswell

edit- on a plus note what a difference with the greenstuff pads and the drilled and grooved discs, compared to the standard pads i used to break the discs in. the cars pulls up alot quicker now

nope thin nut on the bottom and thick one on top

I had a set of top mount bearings in the garage think some one used them tho and never replaced them sorry iv not been about to help out but with a bit of luck I should be home soon

that was on the 8v mate and i did say when you needed them i would replace them would you like me to order you a set while i'm at it?

well thats both strut top mounts and bearings changed and i only got soaked twice with rain, bloody weather

took the car out a test drive, thank christ no more knocking and the car feels alot better when cornering
