well its been an eventful weekend! My nephew got his ride in the car and it was on show at his fundraiser.

I'm also not very happy as the wheel spacers have broken :( The hub part has snapped off on one side and started cracking on the other. They will go back to where I got them from. I wanted an upgrade anyway to 50mm :)

I have lots of pics from the weekend but I will get them up when im back from work :)

Well here are some of the pictures from the weekend. This was with the spacers on (which have subsequently broken!). Will be looking at 50mm spacers (25 a side) shortly.

Here are the pics from Saturday morning before my nephews fund raiser...

The broken spacers... :(

And a quick pic of my nephew just before being taken to the fund raiser :) The stuff he's been through and the smile he still has puts all our small problems into perspective...

What a lovely lad, it looks like being in the car made his day.

That last picture is truly brilliant

Well just a quick update for you all! I have now fixed the airleak and she runs far better! I also have the show plates through but am just waiting for my replacement spacers. I will put up some pictures when they are through and on :)

Now for the ulterior motive behind my post...

As you know from earlier in this thread, my nephew has terminal leukemia and we are trying to give as much back to the charities which have helped us as possible. I am therefore doing a 90 mile bike ride from Oxford to Cambridge to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and Teenage Cancer Trusts. If it is at all possible for you to sponsor me for the ride, it would be much appreciated.

This will be my last post in this thread as an update post as "officially" the car is done... (should I get stupid and do more stuff to it then ill make a new thread ;) )

Its been a long time in coming this last post due to the broken spacers taking over 6 weeks to get exchanged... this is after the company I bought from "tried" to blag me off with every excuse under the book. I rebuffed all of them and a few choice quotations of the sales of goods act and away we go :)

Well having a white car over the last few weeks you can imagine it gets quite dirty. So i went to town on the cleaning stuff...

Megs Gold Class Shampoo
Megs lambswool mit
Megs drying towel
Megs claying kit
Bilberry alloy cleaner
Poorboys wheel sealant (the wheels are the worst part!)

Image

Hmm dirty...

Every wheel was individually taken off and cleaned away from the car.

On with the bilberrys...
Image

Its good stuff :D
Image

And after some sealant which should stop as much sticking to it as possible...

Vive le differance!

On with the spacers...

Certainly looking a lot better now. Will settle down once driven a little.

Now the rest was cleaned and my show plates fitted.

Ill put some decent pics in another thread when ive taken it somewhere decent to be snapped.

Thanks all for reading this 2 and a half year project, theres been blood sweat and nearly tears!

A quick reminder that if you wish to donate to my charity bike ride the link is www.justgiving.com/billburton2

Thanks for reading...

The End

Well you know I said the end? It was only the beginning..... just kidding ;)

As part of my continuous improvement (read: piling even more cash into this sodding project), some new silicone pipes arrived a few days back...

And just incase you don't believe that I really do use the car every day...
