If the only protection that the original steel had was to be passivated (the yellowish colour) and it lasted 13+ years then your mod should last for ever! Mind you, I went further and gave it a good coat of Waxoyl as well for luck :)

very good mark , youve done a great job on that , touch wood ive had the two main places under the driver seat and the bulkhead as well as the union that connects to the fuel rail leak so far which i fixed but at least if it turned out to be the same problem i know how we can fix it thanks to your fix

Agree but at least there is some chemical metal around designed for use on petrol tanks that can be used. For example:-
