help needed with my v6 please

hi my v6 is poorly

when i was coming home last night it started to missfire at low revs but seamed fine when running above 2500 rpm

iv take the plugs out and they are clean but coverd in petrol iv looked at the leads and made sure there is no wires off but they all look fine too

when i got it started after a lot of turning the car over there was loads of smoke that smelt like petrol and it was missfireing still

can any one help or has any idear what the problam might be

is the EML light on ?
have you done a paper clip test ?
you say you checked the ht leads.........how did you chek them
have you checked for air leaks in the intake pipes?

just had a good look at the leads is there a way to test them ?
there is no eml light on
and i carnt find any leaks in he air flow pipes

somtimes at night you can see the spark jump from lead to lead, i had a new set of leads they look fine but missfired put other leads on (old ones) no missfire

just done the paper clip test and its showing code 93 Hall Effect Switch (Camshaft Angle Sensor) Low voltage

i can never remeber which one it is but you will get 1 fault as the engine isnt running, but somone will keep us right

Code 19 (Crank incorrect signal) or 31 (Crank no signal) Is the code you'll get if the engine isn't running.

So the code you've got could be the answer.

the engine wasnt running when i got code 93 but i carnt get it to tick over iv got to keep it reving like mad to keep it running and it cuts out after about 15 seconds

well if the ecu dosnt know where the cam is it wont send the spark at the right point so i would say this is you prob, try unplug it and see what happens it should go into limp home mode which will be better than what youv got

just unpluged the cam sensor its still not right but it seems to be a bit better but still missfireing and smoking like mad

Don 't keep trying it if its missfiring as the unburnt fuel will knacker the cat , change the cam sensor and then try it , could also be the dis pack or ignition amplifier module at fault .

right iv had some 1 change the cam sensor and theres no diffrence its doing my head in now

compression test the engine 2 all cylinders are running 15 to 16 bar so im sure its electrical now

just orderd new leads and coil pack lets if that helps fingers crossed

put on new coil pack and leads today but no joy still the same its back fireing and wont run anymore idears what could be the problem its starting to do my head in now
