Batteries Swapped...

by EddeyDancer » Sat Jul 02, 2016 4:47 am

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 02 JUL 16 @ 96,550Km

Today I decided to swap over the Batteries, between both of my cars...
Mainly because The Ghost doesn't get driven that much, so to recharge, and for the cosmetic aspects too...
So now The Ghost gets some Colour, in the Engine Bay, whilst The Stocky gets back some Originality...

Finally fitted the 16" Stock GM - 5 Spoke Alloys with Tyre Sizes: 215/50 R16 Front & 225/50 R16 Rear

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 05 OCT 15 @ 110,550Km

Front wheels rotated and given a really good clean, even though surprisingly, they weren't that dirty...
Travelled 21,550Km since NEWLY fitted, two years ago... Front wheels bolts lubricated prior to fitting...
I noticed uneven tyre wear Outer Front Left of the tyre... Right side tyre had similar wear, but wasn't as bad...

2 x Coolant Leaks Fixed

by EddeyDancer » Tue Oct 31, 2017 10:05 am

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 31 OCT 17 @ 111,155 Km

I finally attended to the 2 x minor Coolant Leaks... First one being the Heater Hose, that is connected to the Coolant Bridge...
The leak was caused by the Original hose clamp, so luckily it was close to the edge... I simply cut off 2cm of hose, and re-fitted it, and also used a new hose clamp...

The second leak was located at the Coolant Header Tank, small upper stem... This part was simply replaced, by old stock that I had already in my garage...
I then topped up on coolant, and started the car to observe for any leaks, and monitor the level of coolant in the header tank and cooling system...

Whilst I had access, I also decided to check the condition of the CTS, and to my surprise, it was shockingly VERY dirty...
So I gave that a much needed clean up, and re-fitted it... Surely a clean CTS can't be a bad thing...

More Detailing...

by EddeyDancer » Sat Nov 04, 2017 8:46 am

ACTIVITY UPDATE: 04 NOV 17 @ 111,222 Km

Since I recently cleaned the CTS, I thought I'd also give the Alternator Cooling Fan Switch a clean as well...
I also fitted 4 x New Bulbs in the Rear Centre Brake Light, as 3 were now blown, so it was time to sort this issue out...
I adjusted the Boot Lid Locking Mechanism, and rubber mounts... I removed the Boot Weight to see if it made much difference,
and although the boot was much lighter to lift up, it required some force to close it properly... So I decided to keep it fitted...
Now when I drop the Boot Lid from 6 inches high, it shuts smoothly, and locks properly... Happy Face...

I think I need to add boot lid maintenance to my winter jobs list for Cliff, see if I can get your 6” drop shut sorted. I’ll let you know if a find the boot weight though I’m going to guess now that it’s missing...
