Billing judging question

by MarkV6 » Sat Jun 18, 2011 9:57 am

Have a question about the 'standard' category.

Will the car be marked down if it has optional extras fitted from the 'approved' accessory catalogues, ie Irmscher, Zender etc. Or does it not matter?
I used to own this Calibra...
I now own this one.

Even if the accessorys where added to the car from new as an option?
Then the car has been untouched since.

OK so it's just as if 'back in the day' you walked into a dealer and said 'I want a Calibra' no 'approved' optional extras. I think that's the key word for the judging criteria here 'optional'

So 'options' like cloth seats to leather, and cassette to cd stereo's are allowed, but as long as it was on the Vauxhall option list...??

No 3rd party options, Irmscher, zender etc?

Kind of hard that one. I would say though if you had two cars one totally standard with no options and no accessories fitted, is going to be classed as a more standard car than an identical car with them fitted ..like the SEs some had a boot spoiler fitted (the SE8 IIRC) but the spoiler was an option that some got fitted at the factory...but you could also get a dealer to fit it ..so is that an option or an accessory

we could do a vote and see what we get

this was one of the reasons i left the manta club, they always had this argument,

the way i see it, is if mods have been done then its not std it doesn't matter if its a big tuning company (irmscher zender or stevi's chop shop) or a small back street tuner (Regal courtney act) so body kits and lowerd cars are not std as for the Le and DTM's vauxhall went to the tunning company and got them to do, the customer had no in put into it, so that's ok as is optional extras cd player leather seats mud flaps and sunroofs,

do we have a best modified category ?
