changed seat

by craigyboy » Fri May 31, 2013 10:09 pm

Due to my drivers seat starting to burst and sag at
the side I decided to sort it out.As I know there would
be no chance of getting a decent drivers side seat I
came across a mint condition passenger side one and
converted it by changing the frame at the bottom.
Here is some pictures.

I'm going to swap both my seats over, while they are both still in decent condition...

That should extend their life... ;)

Before I start on this job...

There's no mention of the 'seat winding wheel' to the bottom right of the drivers seat...

As this would be on the left of a passenger seat, did you have to swap that over as well???

How was this done, or was it also left alone, and is now on the wrong side, as well as the 'Seat Tilt' handle???

Thanks

Eddy it's all on the wrong side, to get the strip replaced costs about £60.

i found on some of the seats you were able to swap the wheel mechanism over, there was one seat that i had you couldn't do it with (i had a couple of spares kicking about)
the only thing you can't swap over is the tilt mechanism

Well it's all about preserving the Drivers Seat, so it's certainly worth a shot...

I rarely use the 'Winding Wheel' adjust anyway, and as for the 'Seat Tilt' lever, it's not even an issue really...

Looking forward to the change actually... :shifty:

Mate you just click off the bottom side panels and the
adjustment wheel pulls out.Its on a rod and pushes
straight into the opposite side and the bottom frame
is a straight swap.

Yes...

I thought that would be the case...

Awesome, so I shall be swapping my front seats over, so that both 'Seat Tilt' levers will be in the middle...

That way it will look normal, plus I'm not able to get hold of just a passenger seat anyway, to swap over only the drivers side!!!

I was originally just going to swap over the seat bases, but this idea is better and easier to do...

Thanks...
