PHOTO UPDATE!

Firstly today, cleaned up this annoying glue gunk residue off the rearview mirror!
So much better now.. must have just overlooked it and got used to it!

Old glue vs New.

Next was the Bee Sting Aerial that arrived in the post today! Again a vast improvement in the aesthetics department!
Fingers crossed it doesn't get stolen.. although it is quite discrete ;)

Alrighty mate.
The handbrake gaitor was fine and in good condition. I didn't touch it.

I have installed the clear indicators, amber flashing bulbs and gear stick gator. Photos up soon!

I haven't installed the neons. They were for a laugh. Only $5 bucks. I wanted to play with the idea of front and rear seat foot wells glowing blue like my head unit but didn't install them.

the speakers on the shelf won't be helping, I presume they are just fitted right through the shelf rather than a bit of MDF

Fraz is absolutely right. Samarai go to Bunning's and get some MDF board or ply wood cut it to shape or maybe Bunnings can do that for you have it covered in some leather look vinyl and fit the speakers to that. You'll notice your speakers will work "alot better".

So what was done to the rear parcel shelf is that autobahn fitted the 6x9's to a piece of mdf which is attached under the parcel shelf itself and the speakers protrude out the top of the shelf!.. As for them working better? I'm not sure what you mean? The sound quality is completely fine!

I thought the speakers were attached only to the rear parcel shelf. We'll if your happy with the sound that's fine then.

What I meant is that if you want the speakers to work well they need to:
- have plenty of free space behind them, so that they can operate properly
- be fitted to a solid surface, e.g. my front speakers are bolted to front doors with a 25mm speaker ring that is glued and sandwiched between the door and speaker. My rear speakers are boxed in and the box glued and bolted to the panel.

Take a look at sub woofers most are fitted in boxes, this is becasue this allows the sub woofer to work better.

nah my rear 6x9's are attached to the parcel shelf but secured there with a piece of mdf wood or something that is under the parcel shelf! the sound is crystal clear! yep Im definitely happy with it!

ofcourse space creates better resonance.. thats why the 6x9's are on the parcel shelf! ideal surroundings them being up there!

yeah most if not all subs are fitted in boxes! true that!

PHOTO UPDATE TIME :P

As She Stands!

Image

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got hold of clear repeaters and Chrome bulbs that flash amber.
I think the orange colour they were previously stuck out too much.. Problem solved :P

Best $4.30 spent! Low beams are brighter and whiter! XD

Simpsons due to car park lighting! (I got an idea of what a yellow calibra looks like :P )

Looking back.. the sun was messing with my phone here but looks cool!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To Do:
- I installed the new gear stick gator.. but it keeps popping out of its place which is annoying. So Im thinking of lightly gluing it down so it doesn't keep popping out and give me ADHD :P
- Darkest legal tint (Looking at the best quotes)
- Get the roof lining restored! (Annoying and drooping at the driver and passengers sides)

As I write this.. She is getting tinted windows.
I'm getting the darkest legal tint. So keen to see what it looks like afterwards!
If it helps save the interior and keep it cool inside.. Well that's a bonus, but I think a darker shade of Window tint than no tint as current will sit really well on a white car!
WOO soo keen!
