Project SE8

by Pickles » Sat Dec 24, 2011 12:05 am

Thought I'd put up a thread on my SE8, not really a huge project but I like it 8) This is the car as I got it, totally standard SE8 with 78k on the clock:

First job was to get the chippy bonnet painted...

... then the DTM kindly donated its BBS alloys which were shot blasted and powder coated silver:

The car as it appeared at PVS:

I've never been happy with the supposedly 30mm Vogtland springs that were fitted on the morning of PVS, the back end was stuck up in the air but 6 paving slabs in the boot helped a bit

Image

And after a lot of searching on German Ebay and German Calibra sites, I bought these goodies...

... and a set of new Irmscher rubbing strips that I forgot to take pics of :? Work has now started on getting rid of the 5 or 6 layers of paint on the bumper:

And the cars having both rear quarters painted and the rear bumper repaired at the same time:

Thats all for now!!

Mate...

Great start by getting rid of the first set of wheels, as they'd suit a Corsa!

I really like that Two Tone Interior, and it would be My 2nd choice for sure, after the Black Leather!!!
I've never seen that Style of Interior Trim before, and it's certainly NOT available here in Australia...

The Electric Blue Colour is quite nice, and I'm glad that You didnt paint the BBS Alloys in Black!

Nice Cliff Edition Front Bumper, Opel Steering Air Bag and the Rear Number Plate Surround...
I'd so love to get one of them rear number plate surrounds, for my Calibra...

It's looking in as Great Condition, as a Stock Calibra can possibly be!
