New to the forum, but not to Calbra's

by munnyella » Sun Nov 22, 2015 8:36 pm

Good evening People!

Just acquired my 2nd Calibra, a P plate 16v ecotec, 107k miles and all seems good!

I had a similar one last year, a 75k miler with all the history, unfortunately, after 5 weeks of ownership (2 of which were in a car park at Heathrow) the pillock around the corner drove into it, pushing it 12' down the road, up the 6" kerb and through 90 degrees!!, needless to say, it was not going back on the road!!!

Can't see much wrong with the new one, headlining has dropped at the back, easy fix, oil leak from the sensor near the front on top of the sump, only a bit, but I shall whip the sump off and put a new o ring on when I do the oil change.

Just ordered a tow bar from Germany for it too, (all my toys need to earn their keep!!)

I shall put some pics up when I've had a look around the forum.

Cheers

I couldn't find a glue to fix mine back. everything I tried failed within a few days. I ended up tearing it off & was going to get the panel re-covered.
3 years later & I've still not got it done. :(

I have done old Saabs with spray carpet glue, with success (first attempt was a bit rippled!) so I can't see this being much different, its a much smaller lining.

Fingers will remain crossed throughout the process nonetheless!!

I've used spray glue too....works ok but ended up recovering the lot with acoustic carpet.
