No mate got the back end to do and floor pan plus got a few small teething problems I need to sort out like silly little rattles and the slam panel needs repainting due to a nob head who leaned on the car with something on his hands and marked all the paint

Yup, mine went out for a last drive on Sunday (only the second time it's been out since VBOA lol) & that's that for the year now.

Just need to get the alloys off & the storage ones on then it won't be seeing daylight again until March.

Why? The weather is better now than it has been for most of the "summer".
With the new online road tax system, we are not limited to 6 months tax. We can SORN our cars after 5 ,7 or 8 months..whatever you want.

It's actually no different, the only change it that you can now pay by monthly instalments. It's not "tax as you go".

You're still effectively taxing a car for 6 or 12 months but with the option of paying that in monthly instalments, you could still sorn a car with the paper discs part way through the year & return the disc for a partial refund if you wanted to.

It seems like much less hassle to cancel after 7 or 8 months than it was before.
I've always taxed the Elan all year before because I wanted it to be available as a spare should the daily car (Calibra) develop a fault.
Now everything is electronic, I can SORN it in the knowledge that I can jump on line & re-tax it at any time. Before it was technically a legal requirement to display a disc which meant waiting for it to arrive through the post or taking a trip to the post office.

Nope, been taxing mine online for years & provided you have the payment receipt you had something like 5 days allowed for postage to display the disc.

All a bit beside the point anyway, some people just have this thing about "why don't you drive it all the time" whereas others (myself included) don't want to & are happy with the "April to September" thing. :)
