Replacement of conversion disks.

by pappasmurf » Mon May 04, 2015 6:38 pm

Afternoon all,
I replaced my front disks and pads for the lmf 288 conversion some years ago.
Long story short it's about time to replace said disks, had a look at lmf and they want crazy money just for the disks. I am right in thinking it's just the late turbo disks drilled to four stud or another model?
If so, I'll just get a set of those and drill them myself.
Failing that, maybe it's time for four pots.

I think Lotus Elise S2 have 288mm 4 stud

You could even get some Saab brackets for £79 and 308mm discs (and use your existing caliper)

Quite likely.
Unfortunately most retailers suck through their teeth & inflate the price at the first mention of the name Lotus, so cross-referencing against an Elise is unlikely to make the cost more reasonable.

Renault Megane 16v discs will fit as long as 280mm and a 61mm hole are OK for you instead of 284/8mm and 60mm. The are 24mm wide as normal and work well with Cally Turbo 288mm callipers with standard pads. I have run them on a Mk3 Cavalier.

This is a pair for £38 delivered. Apex 256mm discs I have used before.
