Vibration

by Robs-se » Wed Jan 11, 2012 8:55 pm

Am getting a vibration through the steering wheel on braking. Have had new pads and discs a few months back and also 2 new front tyres and the tracking done. Think the tracking needs to be redone again and was wandering if this could also be causing the wheel vibration on braking from speed.

Could also be damaged wheels and/or tyres....ball joints can also xcause this if they are worn.

Certainly not cheap discs, £200 for the pair as they are from Hi Spec to go with the Billet4 4 pots, they are also 285mm rather than standard. Ball joints were replaced back in the summer, i'm now beginning to wander if one of the wheels has thrown a weight.

Also, if your wheels are aftermarket, and have spigot rings, the rings can wear which can cause the wheel not to sit centrally on the hub....odd i know, but ive seen this with happen with my own eyes.

get the front in the air and spin the wheel and get someone to watch it when you brake? might be worth a go...

Sorted now, drivers side front had thrown the weight, had them rebalanced and all ok - still a slight wobble but far better than it has been
