Total Closure window Help with central locking

by SAMARAI » Sat Oct 19, 2013 11:37 am

Hey guys and gals.

I have central locking installed on my cali and would like to have the windows automatically wind up when I hit the remote control button that locks the doors. Wondering if anyone has anyone done this before and can tell me "How To" ?

I've done a little research so far and it seems a "Total closure" Mod is what I should be looking for, but wouldn't have the faintest in where to wire into to let the auto wind up happen.

Any help is appreciated. Cheers guys!

easy enough ...depending on how good you are with wires and a solder iron

firstly do you have a extra alarm on the car ?

if not then you have 2 choices fit an alarm with the function for the windows and door locking

or fit just a simple locking kit with the window wind up function

something like this
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Universal-Ca ... 3a75457326

so depends what you want ...alarm or just locking and window closing

Thanks for the insight mate.

Now I'd probably go with the more simple just locking and window closing.

In terms of wiring something like the module you linked me to, where abouts is this wired into?
Since I already have a remote central locking, is this module replacing what I currently have? so does that mean the remotes included overrides what Im using now?

you fit that kit along with your existing locking

it is usually a live feed, an earth ...two wires to the indicators (or what ever you call them over there)
the central locking open close which is an earth pulse signal and the window up function, that is all down in the drivers side kick panel, there you will find the central locking relay and can connect all the wires there to open and close the doors and also the window lift wire

some also have the function to remote open the trunk, but you need to get a solenoid to do that or adapt the existing one

only other thing will be to mount the flashing LED someplace

There is usually only about 7 wires you need out of all them, as they will have other wires for different pulse signals for the locking/window lift

live feed and indicators are easy located down at the fuse box as is an earth, the locking and window lift as said is also down in the kick plate ...cam mount the box itself behind the fuse box are out the way as well

took me about an hour to fit a similar setup to mine ...and I ran the wire to the rear for the trunk pop function as well (though never got round to fitting it)

My Cliffird has that as an option on the remote fob as standard so can't be too tricky

you will see the large grey relay (sometimes its black)

Image

as said it may be black

Image

easy to test which wire is what if you have a test light, and they work with a negative ...so if your wanting a quick test just find and earth and touch the relevant wire ...should lock/unlock or put windows up when you do that

Brown/Red Locks
Brown/White Unlock
Brown/Black Lifts windows

can find the wires for the Indicators up under the steering shroud

Indicators L Black/White
Indicators R Black/Green

permanent live should be found at the fuse box ...earth is easy enough, then all you have to do is fit the led (if it has one) mount the control box out the way ...and off you go
